Automation Alley names finalists for fifth annual awards gala

Automation Alley, the Troy-based technology trade promotion group, Thursday announced the finalists for its Fifth Annual Awards Gala, taking place Sept. 23 at the Ford Conference and Event Center in Dearborn.

Emerging Leader: K. Joel Perry, director of the Kettering University Center for Fuel Cell Systems and Powertrain Integration, Flint; Jonathan B. Smith, managing director, Wave Dispersion Technologies Inc., Sylvan Lake; Adam Wilburn, manager of Web development, Plante & Moran P.L.L.C., Southfield.

Emerging Technology Company of the Year: Bossdev Inc., St. Clair Shores; Delta Staffing, Clarkston; Infor, Northville.

Automation Alley Member of the Year: Patrick Callaghan, former strategic director, Walsh College; Lynn Ingberg, vice president, Advanced Communications Technologies, Southfield; Jennifer Llewellyn, program coordinator, Michigan Works Troy Career Center, Troy.

Technology Company of the Year: Delmia Corp., Auburn Hills; Plexus Systems L.L.C., Auburn Hills; TechTeam Global Inc., Southfield.

Educational Program of the Year: Automotive Youth Education Systems, Troy; Haas Technical Education Centers, Warren; the Michigan Regional Future City Competition, Southfield.

Non-profit of the Year: Beaumont Hospitals, Royal Oak; The Detroit Science Center, Detroit; the Oak Park Business and Education Alliance, Oak Park.

An award for Legend CEO will also be presented during the ceremony. The Legend CEO award recognizes an individual who has made life-long, pivotal contributions that influenced and helped develop Southeast Michigan's technology community.

The winners in all categories will be announced at the Gala on Sept. 23.
