Chris Chesak

I just found out that one of my college roommates, Christopher Chesak, signed up for the Idaho National Guard in August of 2003. He is currently serving in Iraq. I am very proud of to know him and wish him, his unit, and all of the troops safe passage.

Editor’s note: Spc. Christopher Chesak of Boise is serving with the Idaho National Guard’s 116th Brigade Combat Team. He is writing occasionally for The Idaho Statesman about the unit’s experiences in northern Iraq. His reports are reviewed by security officials with the 116th.

Spc. Christopher Chesak of Boise joined the Idaho National Guard in August 2003. When he reported for boot camp in March 2004, he was the oldest recruit in a company of 150.In civilian life, the 35-year-old works in the outdoor industry as a nonprofit consultant, grant writer and fund-raiser.
