Wave Dispersion Technologies (WDT) Small Craft Intrusion Barriers™ Chosen for Installation at Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach

Sylvan Lake, MI –May 11, 2006 - Wave Dispersion Technologies (WDT) http://www.whisprwave.com/, a global leader in maritime security, announces that the Company’s unique, patented floating marine barriers have been contracted for installation at the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) and the Port of Long Beach (POLB), the largest commercial ports in the US. The Port of Los Angeles recently announced the award of a contract for delivery and installation of Wave Dispersion’s WhisprWave® Small Craft Intrusion Barriers™ ("SCIB™") at POLA and POLB.

The Small Craft Intrusion Barrier ™ ("SCIB™") was invented, commercialized, and is manufactured in the USA. The SCIB™" creates a floating line of demarcation and exclusion zone for maritime force protection. The SCIB™ was designed for the most adverse marine conditions including winds of 100 MPH. Loads are carried by steel cables encased in 2 inch EPDM rubber connecting cables. These same steel cables create a significant maritime port security barrier against intrusions and/or entry by unauthorized, stray or threatening vessels.

The $2.9 million agreement includes the design, fabrication and delivery of 10,000 feet of floating security barriers. Delivery is anticipated to commence within 90 days and to be completed by year’s end. This agreement represents Wave Dispersion’s largest installation to date.

According to Dennis Smith, CEO “With the co-operation of the Los Angeles Harbor Engineers and our design staff, a SCIB™ specifically designed for the requirements of the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach was developed, meeting all of the requirements specified by the Harbor Engineers. We anticipate that the modifications to the SCIB™ will be helpful in future installations and moving forward we will call this design the LA-SCIB™.“
