ANTITERRORISM HOMELAND DEFENSE MARITIME BOMB CONTAINMENT BALLISTIC PROTECTION & SECURITY BARRIERS

In light of the terrorist activities surrounding the USS Cole and the subsequent attacks of September 11th resulting in our nation's heightened awareness about homeland security, WDT is in the process of developing additional security products to protect our nation's military and ports. WDT. is currently in the process of developing a maritime security barrier with bomb / ballistic / explosives containment capabilities. The product is is in the development stages, but is expected to be commercially available to the port security market by the 3rd Qtr. of 2004.

The maritime bomb / ballistic / explosives containment security barrier system will be based upon Vessel Exclusion Barrier™ ("VEB™") and will include some enhancements to improve its bomb / ballistic / explosives containment capabilities. Recent tests of the WhisprWave® modules at Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research, Inc. proved that the modules are capable of withstanding forces in excess of 400,000 lbs. (See test results).

Vessel Exclusion Barrier™ ("VEB™")
To protect security zones from large vessels, the company developed the VEB™, an augmented version of the SCIB™ with additional WhisprWave® modules. The VEB™ has sufficient strength to withstand 1,500,000 foot pounds of energy over a 1.5 second period, capable of completely stopping 30-foot vessels traveling at 40 miles per hour (35 knots) and significantly impeding larger vessels.
