Vessel Exclusion Barrier™ ("VEB™")
To protect security zones from large vessels, the company developed the VEB™, an augmented version of the SCIB™ with additional WhisprWave® modules. The VEB™ has sufficient strength to withstand 1,500,000 foot pounds of energy over a 1.5 second period, capable of completely stopping 30-foot vessels traveling at 40 miles per hour (35 knots) and significantly impeding larger vessels.

Sabotage Costs Iraq $1 Billion in Lost Oil Revenue, Allawi Says

June 20 (Bloomberg) -- Iraq, the Middle East's fifth-largest oil producer last month, has lost about $1 billion in oil income during the last year as a result of sabotage to its oil infrastructure, the country's prime minister said.

Attacks against pipelines and other facilities that help Iraq export oil through the Persian Gulf and Turkey will continue, Ayad Allawi said in comments distributed by the U.S.- led occupation authority.

In my Opinion:

Protecting the Al Basrah and Khawr Al Amaya Oil Platforms, in the Persian Gulf is a primary key to our success in stabilizing a rebuilt Iraq and the eventual withdrawal of US Troops and all Coalition Forces in a timely manner. The oil platforms through their foreign currency earnings support a large portion of the Iraqi economy and are vitally important to the transition of sovereign power and the return of Iraq to the world community

We need to put a permanent security solution in place that provides an elevated level of physical infrastructure protection, in addition to the necessary security patrols. A physical security barrier demarcating an exclusionary free fire zone and designating specifically the rules of engagement in the zone would go a long way towards assisting our troops in making split second decisions in an exceedingly hostile environment.
